I was looking to put something a little different up on the site this week. I think this is different. This is a hood ornament on the front of a restored 1930's car (can't remember which make or model - if you know, send me an email). I liked the motion created with the depth of field I used. It reminds me of some of the comics or movies from that same era....like Flash Gordon or Rocketeer.

We were driving back to California from Taos last month. Had quite a few miles to go to get to Kingman and the sun was starting to get pretty low in the sky. I was focused on getting down the road when Chris pointed out the Wigwam Motel from the freeway. With the great light....I had to pull over. I love this place! It's on the old Route 66 highway, tons of old nostalgic history. When I was a kid, my family drove through here every summer heading back to Indiana. I do remember stopping here at least once back in the 60's, and I think we did stay one night. My dad had an 8mm movie camera, and there is a part of our 1963 trip that has my brother and I running around one of the tipi's. I need to break out that movie and see if I can spot which one it was. Hope you enjoy.

My Photo of the Week is a few days late, but I hope you enjoy the picture anyway. This was taken last November during a pre-shoot for my Zion workshop coming up this October. I believe we have scheduled the workshop at the optimal time to be there during the best fall colors. If you are interested in the workshop, send me a note and I will get you some more information. Thanks for looking.
