Photo of the Week - May 21, 2012

Taken a few weeks back ( in one of my few leisure moments) on our second trip to Taos with a trailer load of stuff. Glad that is now behind me. Here's to a future as bright as the sun was shining on Taos Mountain this day.

Photo of the Week - May 14, 2012

Taken last September at the Road G Bridge that crosses the Rio Grande River in southeastern Colorado. The river had such slow movement that the reflections of the clouds looked like a mirror. Of course, the clouds that day gave the river something great to reflect. Beautiful fall day.

Photo of the Week - May 7, 2012

I have been doing my Photo of the Week on my web site for well over a year now, and in looking back through the images I saw that I had failed to include one of my most popular images into this series. So here it is, Abiquiu Morada. This was taken back in 2008, near the end of the day with just minutes left of some light on the church.

Photo of the Week - April 30, 2012

Last week, Burton Jespersen held a CD release concert at the Geraint Smith Photography Gallery in Taos. Burton asked a few friends to stop in to play with him. In this image are Mark Eaglehart to Burton's right and Don Richmond playing slide guitar. The evening was fantastic. The music started around 8:00 and they played until almost midnight. I took this image while they were warming up prior to people arriving (reason for the empty chairs). There looked to be around 40 people that braved the wind and rain that evening, and they were treated to some incredible music, food, and entertainment.

Here are links to the Facebook pages of Burton & Don.

Here is a Taos News link to the story that showed up last week in Tempo:

Photo of the Week - April 23, 2012

This week was consumed with getting more of our belongings over to Taos for our final move over. We made a quick truck & trailer run with items we didn't want the movers to handle. I did manage to get out for a few photo opportunities. This image is the result of one of the nicer sunsets. The night before we had a huge wind and dust storm along with some rain which left the top of Taos Mountain with a little dusting of snow as a result. This was shot using 6 stitched images to create the panorama effect.
