Photo of the Week - October 29, 2012

This last weekend was the 30th Annual Taos Mountain Balloon Rally. Luckily for me, the staging area was just a couple blocks away from home, an easy walk over. I took well over 1100 images of the weekend event....way to many to post here but all of them with beautiful colored balloons against the deep royal blue color of the Taos sky. What a fun time.

Photo of the Week - October 22, 2012

This week's image was taken yesterday on a drive with Chris through southern Colorado. We were at the Great Sand Dunes National Park a little before sunset. While standing there snapping away, I was thinking how much my life has changed over the last 7 months and how lucky I feel to have had the chance to make the changes I did. Every day, within a short drive of our home, I have the opportunity to be able to see these types of wonders, and REALLY appreciate them. I can't wait to see what new "enchantments" will be coming my way.

Photo of the Week - October 15, 2012

This image is from Cumbres Pass along Highway 17 in southern Colorado. The train is the narrow gauge train that runs between Antonito, Colorado & Chama, New Mexico along the Cumbres & Toltec railway. This was the first stop of 6 that I was able to photograph the train on its way down the grade to Chama.

Photo of the Week - October 8, 2012

We like to head out for an evening drive virtually everyday. Last Friday evening we went down to the Rio Grande River in Pilar to check out the color changes to the trees and get a few reflective shots of the color off of the river. Nothing too spectacular there with the wind to strong on the water surface, but I did get a couple nice images nonetheless. While there, I had a photographer from Florida come up to me to see if "This is a good spot for sunsets?". My immediate answer was NO!. Told him to head up the grade from the Taos Crossing bridge towards the west gorge area. After I hung around for a few minutes more at the river, I decided to take my own advice. This image is from that decision.
