While on a late afternoon photo safari along the Rio Grande this last weekend, I met Peter Trujillo from Hernandez, NM fishing from the banks with his grandson Daniel. The light was fantastic, the sky and water so blue it was hard to believe that it was the end of November around here. Hope you enjoy the image.

Looking back through some of my images from the last year, I found this one that I thought would appeal to many of my California friends & family. This image is from a trip we took last December up the...
Central Coast to the Monterey & Carmel areas. I think we drove along the 17 Mile Drive at least 3-4 times in the few days we were there. It is a spectacular part of the California coastline and is so beautiful you would be hard pressed to take a BAD photograph. Hope you all enjoy.

The middle of October each year is the El Rito Artist Studio Tour. This year we went out on the tour, specifically to see Larry Sparks property and sculptures, all based on an article we read and images in the October 2012 issue of New Mexico Magazine, written by C. Whitney-Ward. The road to get back to the studio is a long narrow dirt driveway, luckily well marked. When we pulled into the property we were met by some of Larry's art work (see below):
Larry Sparks Found Art Piece - El Rito, NM - 2012
Once onto the property, his sculptures and out buildings are every where. A very fun looking and artful oasis in the foothills of El Rito. Well worth the trip. Check out Larry's art work by clicking HERE.

This week's image was taken on one of my Photo Tours a few weeks back. My student was from Virginia and asked me to take her around the Ghost Ranch and Abiquiu area. This rock formation is right along the side of the road west of Abiquiu. I loved the look in her eyes at seeing the wonders of this area for the first time. It makes the experience of teaching so fulfilling. Also, being able to do this for a living ain't so bad either.
