Photo of the Week - October 28, 2013

A couple weeks back I took a group of students out to Plaza Blanca in Abiquiu. Beautiful day!! Some of the trees in the canyon were changing color. This image shows the striking contrasts of the gold leaves against the dark blue sky and the white rock of the canyon that we all had the pleasure of seeing that afternoon.

Photo of the Week - October 21, 2013

On our way back from a trip through Kansas & Texas, we drove on the road between Tucumcari & Springer. If you get a chance this drive is well worth is. Beautiful scenic drive through some of eastern New Mexico's prairie. This chapel was located between Logan & Mosquero. Built in 1914. Located on the Gallegos Cattle Ranch south of Mosquero.

Photo of the Week - October 14, 2013

We took a drive last Saturday up Highway 17 between Antonito, CO and Chama, NM with the hope of seeing some fall color and meeting up with the Cumbres & Toltec narrow gauge train. We did see some color, but it was a little disappointing. But a few days before we arrived a dusting of snow had dropped and was still on the ground. This made for a great addition to some train images.

Photo of the Week - October 7, 2013

This Photo of the Week web page post is exciting for me in that it will also be included as my 200th blog posting. My first blog post was dated: August 30, 2008. Here is the link to that first post:
http://stevenbundy.blogspot.com/2008/08/throughout-most-of-my-life-my-interest.html

After re-reading that first post it reminds me of the excitement and awe I was feeling at that time in my life. Somethings I mentioned in that post have changed (for the better), but the excitement for my photography is still here and I hope that you all can see and feel that excitement in my images.

This week image was taken back in 2011 on a hilltop south of Santa Fe near San Cristobal Ranch. I remember the setup to this image being very confusing. The class I was working with was not all that cooperative, but the final image turned out great, so alls well that ends well.
