This last weekend I had the pleasure of meeting 4 great guys that form the heart of the "Laying Low Car Club" of Espanola, NM....Patrick, Lucas, Benny Sr. & Benny Jr. They shared with me and my camera their beautiful lowriders and the stories behind them. The pride they show in their vehicles becomes even more evident after hearing the history of love and sweat that went into each of their creations. This is Patrick Vigil's 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo from Chimayo, NM. This has been Patrick's dream car since a young boy. Patrick dedicated this car to his recently deceased brother with many tributes throughout including a mural on the back trunk lid. It was inspiring to get to meet this young man and to learn what these vehicles personally mean to each of them.

I have lived in Taos for a few years now and have seen my fair share of beautiful sunsets but this one from a couple nights back has to rank in the Top 3. At times between images I just stood there in awe of what was unfolding in front of me. To my right were spectacular thunderhead storm clouds over the Sangre de Cristos and a near full moon peeking through and over them. To my left were more storm clouds that were starting to turn a blood red color from the sunset that seemed to be catching the sky on fire and in front of me were two scenes.....Taos Mountain shrouded in orange and yellow storm clouds and heavy rain with sporadic lightning and then this view of the rain slowly approaching through the Rio Grande Gorge under spectacularly colors clouds. No wonder so many artists live in this area....the daily inspirations seem endless!!

This image is from a day drive we took through the Four Corners area a couple weeks back. This view looking south towards the Monument Valley pinnacles will never get old. Every time I am here I think of the Forest Gump movie.
