Eight years ago I drove through Bluff and photographed this same scene. I was shocked that nothing has chanced during that time. I mean nothing.....the rust on the car, where it is parked everything exactly the same. I had to look at my old images to double check. Funny how some things stay the same.

This last week we took a road trip up into the Four Corners area to both site-see and to increase my stock photography catalog. We were first met in Farmington with rain storms and general crappy weather the afternoon of our arrival. But luckily for us the next morning the storms made way for some of the most beautiful skies I have ever seen. The prior days rains made the desert sand explode with color and turn the drab brown into versions of crimson, scarlet & vermilion. The last time I had been to Goosenecks was 7-8 years ago and the time of day of our arrival along with some bad exposures made the trip memorable for all of the wrong reasons. So to say I was anxious to get back on such a beautiful day was an understatement. Thankfully my command of my camera was in tune with the beauty that surrounded me this time. I hope you enjoy the image.

I was out last night for the "Rise of the Super Moon" (sounds like an action movie title), but with the cloud cover and my late arrival to the spot I wanted to be for the moonrise, nothing much materialized from that jaunt. So heading back home with tail tucked, I did think that there might be some interesting images at my default location....the Rancho's Church. The moon was still covered by clouds when we arrived so driving around to the back side I hoped that the earlier rain had left some ponding on the front walkway. We pulled up and my wife left out a "Ooooooo!!! So you are seeing in this weeks image what we lucked upon last night. Enjoy.

I was recently contacted by the Kit Carson Home & Museum here in Taos with interest in wanting to carry my photography at the museum gift store. I am excited to announce that a few of images and some gift cards are now on display and for sale there. Each image has been personally chosen by the museum and comes with a certification from both myself and the museum. If in town, check them out. A very interesting and historic place.
A recent morning walk from home netted me this week's photo. In it, I have attempted to rid the image of most hints of the 20th & 21st century and then added an old time feel to the processing. The museum loved it and may have some uses for it down the road. Stay tuned.
