Photo of the Week - February 23, 2015

This old cabin is a movie set remnant from "City Slicker's" with Billy Crystal that still sits on the Ghost Ranch property. Jack Palance played the character "Curly" in the movie and this was where he lived at the start of that movie.....hence the name of my image "Curly's Cabin". When the shutter clicked I was "seeing" the scene in black & white. Loved the sun flare and all of the contrast from the snow that day. To see a color image from the same day to see the great light that was happening, take a look at my "Photo of the Week" image from February 9th at Chimayo.

Photo of the Week - February 16, 2015

A new carpet of snow and the sun coming through a clear sky made for a spectacular drive around town a few weeks back. This farm field is just a couple blocks from my house so I didn't have far to go to start snapping some images.

Photo of the Week - February 9, 2015

About 3 weeks back I had a photo tour down in Santa Fe and seeing that there was going to be a major snow storm coming through that evening we decided to spend the night there instead of driving some treacherous roads back home. I was rewarded the next day with one of the most beautiful days I can remember around here. If I had taken the direct route back to Taos it would have been a normal 1 1/2 hour drive back home. Instead my camera had a different idea and 10 hours later and probably about 200 + miles zig-zagging my way north I got back home with a few images like this one from Chimayo.

Photo of the Week - February 2, 2015

This is the downtown plaza here in Taos from a couple snow storms back. With all of my January images being in color, I had to bring that string to an end with this week's black & white.
