This last weekend the low rumble of 1000's of Twin "V's" made their way through Taos on their annual ride up to the 33rd Annual Red River Memorial Day Motorcycle Rally. They were expecting over 20,000 bikes in Red River and I think most if not all roared through town over the last 3 days. I have never ridden a Harley....but having a good ear for the sounds motor's make.... there is no sound like a Harley. I hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend and did take a moment to remember what this holiday represents.

Yesterday afternoon I drove around Taos with a fellow photographer and friend showing him some of the "Off the Beaten Track" locations that I like to frequent around the area.....funny, one of the first stops was right along the main road north of town that had some ponding water from a recent rain storm. The reflections were the first thing I saw as we cruised by about 50 mph. Some quick maneuvering....a questionable u-turn, and then squeezing the truck between the heavily traveled traffic lane and the swamp area right off the side of the road put us in front of this view.

A couple days back we awoke to a few minutes each of rain, hail & snow, leaving us both thinking..."this isn't the kind of weather we expected for spring around here". We hit the road that afternoon anyway, not knowing what kind of weather we might encounter. This image reflects the kind of weather we had hoped for and initially expected. The weather in northern New Mexico is a fickled beast, but we both love it so.

This week's image was from a few year back at the San Francisco de Asis church in Taos. I was asked a few days back by a client if I had any nice images of the church they might be able to use. This was one that I pulled into their group to look through and since it was a spring themed image I thought the timing appropriate to share with the rest of you today. I hope you enjoy.
