When we first moved to Taos we heard the saying" The mountain will either accept you or spit you out" quite often from longtime locals. 10 years later I feel we have been accepted and as evidenced by my many images of this mountain over that span of time...I pay homage quite often for our inclusion. In the future, you will see even more images of this view from me since it is the first thing I see in the morning when looking out my living room window and the last thing I see when the light disappears at days end. So please bear with me during those times....but how can I not snap the shutter when I have scenes like this in front of me. Also a big thank you to my wife Christie for running in from her studio to get me outside for this shot.

It has been quite some time since I last posted a Photo of the Week here on Facebook. Life has been hectic the last 4+ months to say the least....but I'm back so I hope you again enjoy the weekly posts.
This image is of the Rio Pueblo with some frozen ice, water and snow. It was a middle of the day shoot so I wanted to try out my new 1000x 3.0 Neutral Density filter to see if it would slow down the shutter enough to give me some misty looking water trails and not have blown out areas of the image from the long exposure in the bright sunlight. It worked well as you can see from the image....the catch is it is "so" dark looking through the viewfinder I had to guess at where my lens was pointed. Great fun, none the less, and now I have a new toy to play with.
