It has been awhile since I last posted one of my black & white images for my POTW and I also thought it would be fun to go back through my archives and pull one from the past. I have seen a few recent images from other FB friends of the Abiquiu Morada and I thought I would join the fray. This image was taken in 2008. I hope you enjoy my blast from the past.

Every once in a while the mountains east of Taos show us all the reason for their name, "Sangre de Cristos". A couple days back the atmospheric conditions were perfect to give us one of those glorious evenings.

A Canadian Geese ballet of sorts when they come in for a landing. With so little landing room they do bang into each other....a lot! Funny to watch. This image was from Monte Vista Wildlife Preserve in Southern Colorado. We went for the Sandhill Crane migration but saw even more of the Canadian Geese. Towards the end of the day with all of the geese and cranes all congregating together in the field....the farmland underneath them was almost totally obscured. A great site to see.

This image of the Sangre de Cristos and Mt. Wheeler was from November 2014 and during one of our many fantastic sunsets. The crescent moon is just the cherry on top.

A few days late for my Photo of the Week, but better late than never I guess. This was taken a few days back out at the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge overlook. The storm clouds over the mountains were spectacular (which I posted on the 29th on this page...check it out if haven't already seen it), but these cloud also were glowing just as brilliantly. Having an edge of the gorge in the lower right corner illustrates the dramatics of Taos. I hope you enjoy.
